Alan Halstead is a member of the Oregon State University class of 1969, graduating with a degree in Political Science, minoring in Economics. While at OSU, Halstead served as team manager for the freshman basketball team during his first year, and later in the same for the football team during the 1966, 1967 and 1968 seasons. His interview focuses primarily on his undergraduate experience and his memories of the Athletic Department, with particular focus on the 1967 "Giant Killers" football team. Halstead also discusses his military service after graduating as well as his career in construction and public service, including fourteen years on the Newberg City Council.
