Elizabeth Heredia was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up in Woodburn, Oregon. She attended Success Alternative High School and graduated from Western Oregon University with a B.A in Social Science and a minor in Philosophy. After graduating she worked for a domestic violence center in Salem. At the time of the interview Heredia was the People’s Representatives Coordinator at CAPACES Leadership Institute.
