Over a 21 day period your class can incubate and hatch chicken eggs! This Marion & Linn County 4-H program allows youth of all ages to investigate the life cycle of a chicken and participate in hands-on learning on topics including animal needs, genetics, technology, physiology, record keeping, and much more!
This program aligns with both Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core standards. Additionally, we have successfully adapted this program for classes ranging from K - 12th, and would love to bring it to your school!
For a $25 fee* classes will receive:
- Incubator, automatic egg turner, and related supplies for the duration of this project
- Fertile chicken eggs
- Educational materials and lesson plans tailored to your grade
- Record keeping supplies
- Support throughout the incubation and hatching process to help ensure a successful project
*There is an additional $5 rehoming fee as appropriate
At the end of the video you will receive a registration link to sign up your classroom for 2023. Placements will start in January 2023 and continue through June 2023.
