Hosted by Bill Smith with narration provided by OSU president Robert MacVicar, this film highlights the activities of several OSU faculty, staff and students. Specific focus is given to closed-circuit television instruction as discussed by Biology professor Henry Van Dyke; campus computing infrastructure (Ron Davis and Jo Ann Baughman of the OSU Computer Center); instruction and student teaching in the OSU School of Education (Professor W.M. Kline and Crescent Valley High School teacher Penny Dolan); Theatre productions (Professor C.V. Bennet); Pharmacy instruction (Professor Robert Larson); graduate education (Professor Harold Evans of Botany and Plant Pathology); and instruction in English as a Second Language (Professor Marjorie Moray of the English department). The film also highlights the Kerr Library, student newspaper journalists, and student residence options including dorms and co-ops.
The film was produced by the Oregon State University Cooperative Extension Service and Oregon Public Educational Broadcasting as part of the "Oregon at Work" series. It was digitized from a 1/2-inch open reel videotape held in the Extension and Experiment Station Communications Moving Images (FV120:497), Special Collections and Archives Research Center, Oregon State University Libraries.
