College of Forestry Annual DEI Forum 2021

As we have seen from national and local events over the last year, we are in the midst of a social justice crisis that is disadvantaging whole sectors of our society. As citizens, residents and community members, we can be instrumental in implementing real change; as educators, if we commit ourselves to modeling equity and challenging discrimination, we have a chance to shape the underlying assumptions of the next generation.

Discussion Prompt #1:

We want to strive to build a college community that is more inclusive of all its members. First, we need to define what we mean by that.

What would an inclusive culture look like to us?
What are one or two specific and tangible practices you can think of that would help us achieve this goal?

Discussion Prompt #2:

What resources do we need as a community to make this a reality, and to ensure that it is a benefit to individuals and the whole workplace?
