“Observations, Findings, and Recommendations from the NOAA Tsunami Science & Technology Advisory Panel”
Speakers:
Rick Wilson (California Geological Survey) and
Rocky Lopes (Previously at NWS)
The Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017 (the Weather Act) directed the NOAA Administrator to designate an expert working group within the NOAA Science Advisory Board (SAB) to serve as the Tsunami Science and Technology Advisory Panel (TSTAP). The purpose of the TSTAP is to provide advice to the NOAA Administrator on matters regarding tsunami science, technology and regional preparedness. In this presentation, TSTAP co-chairs Rick Wilson and Rocky Lopes will talk about the first report from the TSTAP and provide an update on the panel's activities (Cascadia CoPes Hub affiliates Carrie Garrison-Laney and Corina Allen are both members of the TSTAP).
