Kevin Alejandrez was born in Fresno, California in 1994 and moved to Independence, Oregon with his family when he was in elementary school. He graduated from Western Oregon University with a B.S. in Sociology and then received his M.A. in Sociology from the University of Kentucky. At the time of the interview he was completing his PhD with University of Kentucky and working for Centro de Servicios para Campesinos and Pineros y Campesinos Unidos Noroeste (PCUN).
