Labeled "orientation film," this silent footage depicts the organization and usage of the brand new William Jasper Kerr Library at Oregon State University, circa 1963. Specific areas of the building that are shown include the Reserve Book Room, circulation desk, open study areas, reference desks - including specific desks designated for topical areas - book stacks, newspaper and periodical collections, and security stations. Construction work for the original Kerr Library building was completed in 1963. It was expanded in 1971 and again in 1999, at which point it was renamed the Valley Library.
