Silent footage of Oregon State University students learning the craft of horseshoeing. Activities depicted include firing the blacksmithing kiln, forging new horse shoes, leading a horse, cleaning hooves and removing old horse shoes, measuring hooves, preparing hooves for new shoes, and applying the new shoes. By 1964, OSU was one of only two schools in the United States to still offer coursework in horseshoeing. The lead farrier shown in this film may Charles Dickinson.
