In 1984-85, the Oregon State University men's basketball team struggled through a down year, finishing the season with a record of 12-15 -- the program's first losing season since the 1970-71 campaign. The team was led by junior center Jose Ortiz (16.4 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game), senior guard Derrin Houston (12.3 ppg), senior center Steve Woodside (9.9 ppg, 6.3 rpg), and senior guard Darryl Flowers (9.1 points per game, 4.2 assists per game).
In addition to footage from numerous games, this lengthy film includes locker room footage as well as scenes of media availabilities with players and coaches. Some of the game footage includes play-by-play commentary from the Beavers' radio broadcaster Darrell Aune. The film was compiled from five Umatic tapes held in the Intercollegiate Athletics Moving Images (FV 031 - Acc 2022:072), Special Collections and Archives Research Center, Oregon State University Libraries.
