An oceanographer, Spilhaus was also assistant executive director of the American Geophysical Union at the time of this lecture. Footage also includes images of OSU President Roy Young, Liberal Arts Dean Gordon Gilkey, and nuclear chemist Chih Wang, who received the OSU Alumni Association's Distinguished Professor Award on the day.
