August Strand served as President of Oregon State College from 1942-1961. His wife, Mollie Strand, was heavily involved in the civic life of Corvallis both during and after her husband's term in office. They were interviewed by an unidentified individual for the Oregon Pioneers Oral History Collection (OH 01), Special Collections and Archives Research Center, Oregon State University Libraries.
