Charles Goodrich is a Corvallis-based poet and essayist, and also the former director of the Spring Creek Project for Ideas, Nature and the Written Word at Oregon State University. For many years, Goodrich was also a professional gardener. The recipient of a MFA in Creative Writing from OSU in 2002, Goodrich's books of poetry include "Insects of South Corvallis" (2003), "Going to Seed: Dispatches from the Garden" (2010) and "A Scripture of Crows" (2013). Goodrich is also the author of a book of essays, "Practice of Home: Biography of a House" (2004) that reflects on his experience of family life in the home that he built himself.
