Gloria E. Anzaldua, a Chicana lesbian-feminist poet, writer and cultural theorist from the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas, visited Oregon State University in April 2003 to deliver the Difference, Power, and Discrimination Program Distinguished Lecture. Her presentation capped a two-day Conference on Gender and Culture that was hosted by the university. The talk was held in Milam Auditorium at OSU and included introductions by Interim Provost for Faculty Affairs Leslie Burns and Ethnic Studies professor Erlinda Gonzales-Berry, as well as a choral performance from the Jubilate! singing group.
