In this interview, Jean Rothacher described a series of historic photos shown to her by Max Geier for use in the writing of Geier's book, "Necessary Work: Discovering Old Forests, New Outlooks, and Community on the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest, 1948-2000." (U.S. Forest Service, 2007) Jean Rothacher is the wife of Jack Rothacher, Pacific Northwest Research Station Forester in Charge.
