OSU won this edition of the Civil War football rivalry in thrilling fashion, beating the Ducks by a score of 38-31 in double overtime. The Beavers were led by back-up running back Matt Sieverson, who rushed for a career-best 142 yards, as well as freshman wide receiver James Rodgers, who scored what turned out to be the winning touchdown on a play - the fly sweep - with which Rodgers would become synonymous during his Oregon State career. OSU completed this season with a record of 9-4, defeating Maryland in the Emerald Bowl on December 28, 2007.
