About ATLAS:
Extension’s future success will be determined by the quality and relevance of our educational products and services, in all their forms. With this in mind, Penn State Extension—in close partnership with their Agricultural Communications unit—is launching a comprehensive strategy to modernize and redefine how Extension operates in an incredibly competitive, new age of communications and education.
Powering this strategy is a system called ATLAS, which seamlessly integrates content management, e-commerce and marketing, customer relations, and communication into Penn State Extension’s daily workflow. Easy access to programs, information, and real time data helps drive decision-making. A focus on enhancing customer service and product development improves programs, expands access and reach of expertise, and builds stronger relationships.
ATLAS also includes a process that helps Penn State Extension teams prioritize topics and products to develop a program portfolio, define the format of products, and determine the use of limited team resources.
ATLAS is a game changer with potential advantages for the national Cooperative Extension system. And we have a valuable opportunity to get an early look at the system and speak directly with those involved in developing and implementing it.
