The pioneering figure in the history of electronic music, Perry R. Cook, came to OSU in November as part of the Create@OregonState Arts & Engineering fall lecture series.
His talk, in his own words:
This talk will romp through some of the history of humans performing with computer-mediated systems, especially in ensemble contexts.
Extra detail will be paid to the genesis of the Princeton Laptop Orchestra, and many other LOrks in its family tree.
Since I'm a singer, I'll talk quite a bit about the voice in this context, thinking aloud about what Choirs of the Future (and really the immediate present) might look like.
