Playing in Durham, North Carolina shortly following the United States' entry into World War II, the Beavers defeated the Blue Devils by a score of 20-16. OSC's Donald Durdan was named player of the game. His teammate Bob Dethman also distinguished himself by throwing for two touchdowns and intercepting a Duke pass near the end of the game.
