Jerry Franklin earned bachelor's (1959) and master's (1961) degrees from Oregon State College in Forest Management. He later enjoyed a long and influential career as a research forester and chief plant ecologist for the U.S. Forest Service. This interview was conducted by Fred Swanson for inclusion in the H.J.
