One of the more significant wins in the modern history of Oregon State football, the Beavers defeated top-ranked USC in front of a Thursday night national television audience by a score of 27-21. OSU was led by freshman running back Jacquizz Rodgers who rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns on 37 carries. Quarterback Lyle Moevao also threw for two scores in the win. The victory was OSU's first over a top-ranked team in forty-one years -- in 1967, the famed Giant Killers team also defeated #1 USC by a score of 3-0. In addition, this was the Beavers' second home victory in a row over USC, having defeated the Trojans at Reser in 2006 as well.
