In 2008 the Beaver baseball team compiled a record of 28-24, missing post-season play for the first time in four years. The Oregon State gymnastics team won the Corvallis regional en route to an 11th place finish at the NCAA championship meet. The OSU football team finished its season with a record of 9-4, defeating Pittsburgh in the Sun Bowl.
